First Tournament of 2023

On Sunday 5th June 20 players plus a number of spectators gathered for the Pairs Tournament. A very relaxed and enjoyable event was had by all. Four games were played by all 10 pairs in order to determine 4 semi- finalists. Competitors were of varying experience and even those who had not played the game regularly reported that they thoroughly enjoyed it and were now hooked! All games were keenly contested with many being won by just one point. Our semi-finalists consisted of some regular club players and others who do not regularly play in the Thursday evening club nights. The finalists on the day were Helen McCarthy and Sally Wentworth-James and Gunn-Eva and John Banister. During the event a delicious BBQ and salads was enjoyed along with drinks which together with the wonderful sunshine made this a day to remember.
